ZHANGJIAKOU (China) -Chloe Kim, an American, dominated the women’s semipipe final. She won the gold and defended her win streak, easily beating Queralt Castellet of Spain.

Kim, at 17, became the youngest snowboarder ever to win Olympic Gold at Pyeongchang 2018, and she returned with style almost two years after her last trip down the slopes.

Kim was the Beijing Halfpipe Champion with a score of 94.

Castellet from Spain won silver while Sena Tomita, Japan, took the bronze.

Kim was the winner of the final from her first run. She posted her best score, 90.25. Castellet came in second with the next highest, while Castellet scored the lowest, at 90.25. Tomita, Japan, won bronze, scoring 88.25.

Each boarder in the final received three runs in halfpipe. The best run of each of them determines their rank.

Officially known as the Secret Garden Olympic Halfpipe it measures more than 200m in length and is 22 metres wide. The halfpipe walls measure 7 meters high.
