An elusive 555-carat, diamond of unknown origins that is billion years old was auctioned by Sotheby’s for $4.5 Million in crypto.

The diamond has baffled geologists over its origin, where it’s still not clear whether it came from outer space or was crystallized in the earth’s mantle. It is distinguished by an opaque appearance and a large number of visible holes.
