PARIS (Reuters). Police stopped 500 cars trying to enter Paris Saturday as part of a freedom convoy’ protest against COVID-19 restrictions.

Police stated that the vehicles were intercepted at 3 entry points to Paris and handed out more than 150 tickets.

To prepare for the demonstrations, thousands of police officers were mobilized and established checkpoints.

Inspired by the Canadian horn-blaring Freedom Convoy protests, motorists from France tried to resist a city-wide police order to not enter.
