KYIV (Reuters – Ukraine’s embassy will be based in Lviv. Ukrainskaya Pravda reported that a U.S. diplomat source said this on Sunday amid growing fears about a Russian invasion.

Unfortunately, the U.S. Embassy to Ukraine was not available for comment immediately.

Washington announced Saturday that all its staff in Kyiv’s embassy had been ordered to flee Ukraine because of the Russian invasion threat.

Ukrainskaya Pravda quoted a source as saying that this was a temporary decision. “The embassy team will then return to Kyiv as soon the security situation permits.”

Recent U.S. warnings have been becoming more urgent about Russian military buildup near Ukraine.

Moscow denied plans to invade, and accused the West hysteria.
