WASHINGTON (Reuters), – While senior U.S. officials stated that it was impossible to confirm U.S. intelligence that Russia plans to invade Ukraine Wednesday, they repeated their call for Americans not to abandon Ukraine.

Jake Sullivan (White House National Security Adviser) reiterated the fact that a Russian invasion could happen at any moment and the United States will try to stop Russia’s ability to shock the world using a false flag operation as a pretext to attack.

Although we cannot accurately predict the date, we’ve been saying since a while that we are now in the window and Russia may invade Ukraine anytime now. When asked by CNN’s State of the Union about the possibility of Wednesday timing, Sullivan stated that this includes the coming week prior to the Olympics.

John Kirby, spokesperson for the Pentagon (NYSE:), also declined confirmation of reports regarding Wednesday’s timing on Sunday.

Kirby told Fox News Sunday that “I am not in the position to verify those reports”.

Kirby stated that a Russian military operation could occur at any time.

These assessments come from many sources. Kirby stated that these assessments are not limited to inside intelligence but include what is plainly visible. “More that 100,000 troops continue to be deployed in support of Ukraine’s frontier.”

These comments were made amid an explosion of diplomatic activity designed to try to end the West’s conflict with Moscow over Ukraine and avoid military action.

U.S. President Joe Biden met with Russian President Vladimir Putin Saturday and was scheduled to meet with Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zeleskiy on Sunday, U.S.-Ukrainian officials stated.

Both Kirby, Sullivan, and Kirby repeatedly warned Americans against leaving Ukraine.

“What have we seen over the last 10 or so days? An acceleration of the buildup and movement by Russian forces of any variety, closer the Ukraine border in a situation where they could launch a militaristic action very quickly,” Sullivan explained.

In the case of an attack by Russia, he said that the United States and its allies would “defend NATO territory” and they would impose sanctions on Russia.
