AMD closes biggest chip acquisition with $49.8 billion purchase of Xilinx -Breaking

(Reuters] – Semiconductor manufacturer Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:) stated Monday it completed its purchase Xilinx Inc (NASDAQ:) The largest ever chip industry deal at $49.8 Billion.

Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:) has announced that it will close the transaction following the abandonment of its plan to purchase SoftBank-owned Arm Ltd. This was due to regulatory obstacles.

It said that AMD had received all required approvals to proceed with the deal.
