• ETHDenver will host the BUIDLathon between February 11 and 20 2022.
• Workshops, presentations and a $15,000.000 prize pool will be part of the hackathon.
• Polkadot has prepared two events– virtual and in-person– to give entrants a chance to win a share of the prize pool.

From February 11-20, Polkadot will host its biggest hackathon at ETHDenver. Workshops, presentations, as well as a prize pool worth $15,000.

BuiDLathon invites community members to create and pitch new parachains to compete for a piece of $15,000 in prize money. This amount will be divided 50/50 between both the online and in-person parts of hackathon.

Polkadot prepared both a virtual event and an in-person one for this hackathon.

The in-person event is called ‘Pitch the Next Polkadot Parachain’, which involves a team creating a pitch deck with 15 slides maximum. The pitch deck should outline what the future Polkadot Parachain can do, and how it will solve problems. In addition, it must be presented in a high-level fashion with solid technical overviews and a roadmap for the project’s future.

On the other hand, the virtual event is called ‘Build a Polkadot Parachain Using Substrate’. Participants will be building Layer-1 blockchains using Substrate. It is important that entrants consider the utility, accessibility and other details.

Web3 Foundation’s (W3F) Developer Relations Partnerships Lead Urban Osvald shared their thrill in returning to ETHDenver.

There are over 20 hours worth of Polkadot content. These range from detailed Substrate workshop led by Parity core engineering to hundreds of ecosystem projects that showcase their technology in presentations and workshops. I’m confident that this year ETHDenver will be a splashing success!

There will be mentors, judges and meet-and-greet opportunities. Also, there will be scheduled talks by Polkadot ecosystem team members. Workshops from Parity and W3F will also be offered.

Since 2018, ETHDenver invited decentralized technologies enthusiasts and developers to Denver. ETHDenver’s intention is to build revolutionary projects for Web3 – the next phase of the internet.
