Texas sues Meta over Facebook’s facial-recognition practices

The lawsuit claimed that Meta violated the state’s privacy protections using facial-recognition software that is now discontinued.
According to a source familiar with the situation, the state seeks civil penalties in excess of hundreds of billions.
