U.S. considers offering Ukraine up to $1 billion in sovereign loan guarantees

(Reuters) – U.S. President Joe Biden’s national safety adviser Jake Sullivan informed Congress leaders Monday that the United States would consider offering Ukraine sovereign loan guarantees up to $1 million to ease market fears about a possible Russian war. A source close to the conversation told Reuters.

Washington said Russia could invade Ukraine anytime now. On Monday, John Kirby, the Pentagon spokesperson (NYSE:), said that Russia is increasing its military strength and capabilities near Ukraine’s borders with every passing day.
