FAA will conduct final inspections on new Boeing 787 Dreamliners

Tuesday’s statement by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), stated that it would continue to have authority for airworthiness certificates. BoeingFinal inspections of 787 Dreamliner 787s are performed by certified technicians.

According to the U.S. regulator of aviation, Boeing was notified Tuesday. It said that it would retain this authority until it feels certain that Boeing’s manufacturing and quality controls will produce 787s meeting FAA standards.

As U.S. regulators inspect and repair structural problems in the aircraft, deliveries of 787 remain frozen. Boeing didn’t immediately respond.
