Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The index gained 3.08% and the NSE rose 3.03% at the closing.

These were the best performers of the session Tata Motors Ltd (NS:) traded at 504.00 after the close, up 6.90%. That’s 32.55 points. Meanwhile, Eicher Motors Ltd. (NS) was up 5.45%, or 140.20 point to reach 2711.00 Shree Cements Late trade saw a 5.30% increase in Ltd. (NS) or 1249.80 point to 24839.00

These were the worst performers of the session. Cipla Ltd. (NS) fell 3.46 percent or 33.05 point to close at 921.85. Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (NS) fell 1.23%, or 2.05 points, to close at 164.15. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (NS) was up by 0.92%, or 1.85 point to 203.70.

Bajaj Finance Ltd. rose 5.13%, to 7137.90. State Bank Of India (BO;) was up 4.55%, to settle at 524.65. Bajaj Finserv Ltd. gained 4.37% and closed at 16365.80.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(BO:), which rose 0.74% at 203.40 in the late trade, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.. (BO.) gained 1.38% at 876.30, and ITC Ltd. (BO.) increased 1.64% at 223.00 by closing.

The India National Stock Exchange saw rising stocks surpass declining stocks by 1253, 553 and 27, respectively. 27 of the 28 ended unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange however, 1968 was up and 1301 down, while 90 were unchanged.

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was 10.29% lower at 20.6125.

The April delivery of Gold Futures was lower by 0.72%, or 13.50, to $1855.90 per troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 3.07% (or 2.93) to reach $92.53/barrel, and April Brent oil, which fell 2.77% (or 2.67), to trade at $83.81/barrel.

USD/INR declined 0.43% at 75.293 while EUR/INR dropped 0.13% at 85.4200.

US Dollar Index Futures were down 0.3% at 96.030.
