Generali chairman says to quit board to foster renewal -Breaking

REUTERS/Remo KasilliMILAN (Reuters – The Chairman of Italy’s largest insurer Generali (MII:) has decided not to run again for a mandate in order to help with a renewal or directors’ term amid tensions among shareholders, a document revealed on Wednesday.
Gabriele Galateri di Genola wrote to the board, a full copy of which was seen at Reuters. He stated that he would be continuing as Chairman until April when Generali’s board will come up for renewal.
Galateri stated, “I will leave this board in complete… harmony.”
Galateri chaired Generali’s board over the last 11 years, and was also the deputy chairman for seven more.
