WASHINGTON (Reuters] -President Joe Biden rejected Donald Trump’s claims of executive privilege and directed that White House visitor logs be made available to the panel investigating deadly attack on Jan. 6, 2021, according to The New York Times.

Citing a letter to the National Archives, the Times said Biden granted congressional investigators access to the data “in light of the urgency” of their work probing Trump supporters’ violent siege at the U.S. Capitol last year, and ordered the agency to turn over the logs within 15 days.

For comment, representatives from the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration could not immediately be reached. Trump representatives could also not be reached for comment.

Also, the White House could not immediately be reached.

Biden (a Democrat) rejected Trump’s attempt to stop the U.S. House of Representatives Jan.6 committee from accessing various documents from Trump’s time in the White House. Trump’s request to withhold documents was rejected by the federal courts.
