SeaWorld says offer to buy Cedar Fair rejected -Breaking

(Reuters) – SeaWorld Entertainment Inc (NYSE:: Entertainment Inc) said Tuesday that its proposal to acquire Cedar Fair amusement park operator (NYSE:: LP) was rejected. It also stated that there is no way to close the transaction.

Cedar Fair didn’t respond to our request for comment.

Reuters earlier reported that SeaWorld, a Florida-based entertainment and theme park company, offered to purchase Cedar Fair for $3.4 Billion in cash. A person who was familiar with the matter said this.

As of Tuesday’s closing, Cedar Fair was valued at $3.5 billion.

Cedar Fair, Sandusky (Ohio-based) had declined a $4 billion takeover offer from Six Flags Entertainment Corp. This is approximately $70 per share. (https://reut.rs/3HmbhUX)
