MOSCOW, (Reuters) – The U.S. embassy to Russia warned Americans that they should have plans for evacuation. Citing the danger of attack in Moscow, along with the Russian border, Ukraine, it drew a rebuke form the Russian foreign ministry.
According to the Embassy, “There were threats of attacks on shopping centres, rail and metro stations and other public gatherings in major urban areas including Moscow and St. Petersburg and in areas of increased tension along the Russian frontier with Ukraine.”
According to the Embassy, “Review your personal safety plans.” Plan for evacuation that does not depend on U.S. government support.
Maria Zakharova (Russia’s foreign minister spokeswoman) asked if America had given Russia information on possible terrorist attacks.
“And if one doesn’t, then how does one get to the bottom of all this?” Zakharova stated.
