Animoca Brands has been a major player in crypto gaming. With intent they began the year by acquiring partnerships one at a time. Yield Guild Games (a subsidiary of Animoca) was particularly active in acquiring assets from different games. The Sandbox was also one of the most popular metaverses with many licenses.

However, the Blockchain Gaming giant seems to be just starting. It almost feels like it was a warm up. Animoca Brands purchased Grease Monkey Games in 2013. This gaming studio has experience with programming Unreal Engine 5 as well as motorsport development.

This acquisition is clearly strategic as Animoca Brands acquires REVV Racing and F1 Delta Time, three of the most popular motorsport titles. Even though these Grease Monkey games weren’t the most popular motorsport simulators on mobile platforms, the company has ample potential to bring high-quality racing simulators to the crypto gaming world in tandem with the considerable experience of The Sandbox creators.
