BRUSSELS (Reuters), – EU diplomats discussed a package of sanctions against Russia, which includes four components. The bloc’s foreign ministers could agree to the plan at a later meeting Tuesday in Paris. This was reported by a source from the EU Commission.
This package was proposed by the EU executive Commission and includes the ban on Russian state bonds being traded in Europe and the exclusion of eastern Ukraine from a free trade agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
This includes sanctions against several hundred members Russia’s State Duma that voted in favor of recognition of eastern Ukraine’s breakaway regions. It also targets companies and banks who finance these separatist activities.
