Home DepotAs the retailer prepares for spring, it will announce its fourth quarter earnings on Tuesday.
This is what Wall Street expects based upon a Refinitiv survey of analysts:
- Earnings per share: $3.18 expected
- Predicted revenue of $34.87B
Home improvement retailers have been a clear winner during the pandemicIt has many other advantages. The country’s biggest generation of Millennials is moving into larger homes and first homes while some Baby Boomers are choosing to stay put. It’s driving up real estate costs and squeezing the supply. It’s the country’s aging housing stock is causing more repair, maintenance and renovation projects, too — as is more wear-and-tear from Americans spending more time working remotely.
However, some investors question if this hot streak in home improvements can be sustained as retailers savor a period government stimulus and increase prices due to inflation.
Home Depot did not share its outlook for either the current or previous fiscal year. They said the background is too uncertain.
Recently, the company announced that it was changing its leadership. Ted Decker (CEO) is a veteran of the company and will be retiring. step into the role of CEO,Beginning March 1. Craig Menear, outgoing CEO will still serve as the chair of board.
Home Depot shares have outperformed all other market sectors by 24% since Friday’s close. This is the S&P 500It has increased by approximately 11% in the last year. The shares closed Friday at $346.87. This is less than 1% of the closing price. The market value of the company is $362.22 trillion.
