India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 1.35% -Breaking

Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

NSE closed with the index declining 1.49% and the losing 1.35%.

They were the top performers at the session Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS), fell 0.13 percent or 1.10 point to trade at 840.00 by the close. Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (NS) lost 0.51% to finish at 15929.95. Hero MotoCorp Ltd (NS.:) fell 1.14% to 2682.50, or 30.85 points in late trade.

They were also the session’s worst performers Tata Steel Ltd (NS-), fell 3.88%, 45.85 points and traded at 1136.00 after the close. Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. (NS) fell 2.83%, or 10.45 points, to reach 358.30 Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (NS): was at 3579.70, down 3.6% or 139.70 point.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:) which fell 0.74% to 15885.45, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which was down 0.39% to settle at 837.70 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:) which lost 0.73% to close at 1812.95.

Tata Steel Ltd., which fell 3.85% at 1136.00 in late trading, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(BO:), which dropped 3.67% at 3583.75, and State Bank Of India. At the close it was down 2.52%.

The India National Stock Exchange saw falling stocks surpass advancing by 1538, 292 and 8. 8 was unchanged. On the Bombay Stock Exchange 2588 declined and 665 advanced while 83 was unchanged.

Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. shares (NS:), fell to 52 week lows, falling by 2.83% (10.45 to 358.30).

The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was at 27.0600, an increase of 18.15%, a 6-month high.

For April delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.63% to $1911.85 per troy-ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which rose by 3.68%, 3.32, to $93.53 a bar, and May Brent oil, which rose by 2.10%, or 1.95, to trade at $94.94/barrel.

USD/INR declined 0.00%, to 74.859; EUR/INR rose by 0.53%, to 84.6985.

At 96.112, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.10%.
