An alien fraudster has defrauded $300K worth of bitcoins from a 33-year-old woman via an online dating app “Hinge”. A hacker claimed that he was a Chinese architect living in Maryland.

According to The New York Times the hacker successfully phished the victim by promising her a life and a honeymoon. The couple will finance it with Bitcoin (BTC).

A fraudster had also made false promises to the woman that she would invest in Bitcoin, which could lead her to a better return. All that was promised to the woman by the hacker was just a hoax. The hacker also claimed that the entities had been chatting for several months and never got to meet in person, citing COVID-19 restrictions.

The man brainwashed and persuaded the woman using false hope that led to her sending $300,000.
