REUTERS/Paresh David(Reuters) – Alphabet (NASDAQ) Inc.’s Google announced Wednesday that it will give employees from the Bay Area an option to go back to work as COVID-19 cases in America are less severe.
“We’re giving employees who welcome the chance to come into the office the option to do that wherever we safely can, while allowing those who aren’t ready to keep working from home,” the company’s spokesperson said in a statement.
Google will require that all employees who visit its work locations have been fully vaccinated.
Google announced that it will lift its temporary COVID-19 weekly testing policy, which was in effect since January.
Additionally, the company plans to restore and increase access to amenities in its offices like fitness centers and massage services as well as cafes.
Google claimed that employees are free to work from home and 30% worked at onsite in the Bay Area last week.
