UK calls in finance heads and regulators to talk sanctions

LONDON (Reuters] – The Treasury and Boris Johnson, British Prime Minister of the United Kingdom have met with finance executives and regulators in order to determine how to make the recently-announced sanctions against Russia effective. Laura Kuenssberg, BBC political editor on Twitter said that the meeting was held by the Treasury and Boris Johnson.

Kuensberg said that Johnson is most likely to announce additional military support for Ukraine. However, he did not specify what these will be.

Britain placed sanctions against five Russian banks Tuesday, Gennady Timothychenko and two billionaires who have close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
