Civilian flights restricted as invasion threat grows

Turkey’s first official spotter zone has been established by Ukraine International Airlines. The plane was placed in use for photographers and aviation enthusiasts at Istanbul Airport (Istanbul, Turkey) on June 25, 2021.

According to an airmen’s notice, civil flights in Ukraine were limited through Thursday.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration notice posted online, flights had been restricted due to “potential hazard for civilian aviation”. Officials said that Russia was ready to launch an attack Wednesday night.

A number of foreign airlines have cancelled flights to Ukraine, including Lufthansa (KLM) and KLM (Lufthansa), due to concerns about Russia’s invasion.
