Decisions need to be taken by the West to reach nuclear deal, Iran negotiator says -Breaking

DUBAI (Reuters). – The Western partners at the nuclear negotiations with Iran in Vienna must make key decisions to reach an agreement. Officials from Iran said Thursday via Twitter that this was the case.
Reuters reports that a U.S.-Iranian deal is being negotiated last week to revive the pact. The agreement was abandoned by Donald Trump’s administration in 2018, who also imposed harsh sanctions on Iran.
Ali Shamkhani from Iran, the top Iranian security official said an agreement was possible after substantial progress at Vienna’s negotiations.
But he said: “To solve the remaining key issues, Western policy decision-making will be necessary to balance this accord.”
Shamkhani, secretary to Iran’s Supreme National Council reports directly to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Muhammad Ali Khamenei.
“Being near the finish line is no guarantee of crossing it” and sealing an accord, Ali Bagheri Kani, Iran’s chief negotiator at the Vienna talks, said in a tweet.
He said, “It takes extra caution, perseverance, creativity, and a balanced approach in order to complete the final step.”
Diplomats claimed that the vague mention of issues in the draft of the agreement was an indication of unfreezing billions in Iranian funds in South Korean bank accounts and the release Western prisoners in Iran.
Iran urged the West to remain “realistic” during talks on Wednesday. Bagheri Kani said he was going back to Tehran to consult, suggesting that a breakthrough is not possible.
