EU imposes sanctions on Russian ministers of defense, economy -Breaking

(Reuters) – The European Union announced Wednesday that sanctions had been imposed on a variety of Russian senior officials. They included Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu as well as Economy Minister Maxim Reshetnikov. It was done after Moscow recognised the independence of two separatist enclaves within Ukraine.

Andrey Kostin was also targeted, the chief executive officer at Bank VTB PAO (Russia’s second-largest) bank. In its official journal, the EU announced that it had made this announcement.
