Maersk halts seaborne shipping to Ukraine until end of Feb -Breaking

COPENHAGEN, (Reuters) –Shipping company Maersk announced on Thursday that it had halted all port visits in Ukraine up to the end of February. It also closed its Odessa office on the Black Sea Coast as a result of conflict with Russia.

A Maersk spokesperson stated that services in Russia are still available, but we decided to not call Ukraine ports until February 28th and to stop accepting orders from Ukraine for the time being.

The spokesperson stated that all 60 of their employees were safe and at home in Ukraine.

Maersk operates two containers shipping routes through Ukraine for Maersk. They call at Pivdenniy, which is about 30 km (19 mi) east Odessa.
