Norwegian Cruise cancels sailings to Russia, Ukraine ports -Breaking

(Reuters) – Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE:) said Thursday that Russia’s invasion has forced the company to change its itineraries and cancel sailings between Ukraine and other countries.

American cruise lines are looking to find alternative port locations around the Baltic for their scheduled summer sailings. Over the summer, about 5% or 50 of the cruise line’s total sailing capacity will anchor in St. Petersburg, Russia.

A spokesperson for the company said that they are working on replacement ports. They will notify all affected guests as well as travel advisors as quickly as possible.

After Moscow launched an attack by sea, land and air on European states in its largest ever assault since World War Two, the Russians attacked Ukraine’s forces on all three sides.

It’s disappointing, as St. Petersburg is a crown jewel of Scandinavia itineraries. However, it is possible to find other options,” Frank Del Rio, Chief Executive Officer said in a call after the earnings calls.

According to company executives, it was not a significant impact.
