Polish PGNiG says gas deliveries from east remain uninterrupted -Breaking

© Reuters. WARSAW, (Reuters) – Deliveries to Poland via its eastern frontier remain unaffected. This was the Polish dominant gas company PGNiG stating on Thursday following Russia’s invasion.
PGNiG is covered by a long-term gas contract with Russia’s Gazprom. (MCX:). Gas enters the border with Ukraine and Belarus via transmission entry points.
The company stated that PGNiG has a diverse supply portfolio, and capacity it booked in cross border pipelines. It can source gas in many directions including via Swinoujscie’s LNG terminal and through the southern and western frontiers.
According to the statement, the company plans on booking more transmission capabilities and purchasing additional gas to support its balance needs. It also keeps fuel in storage.
PGNiG’s press office stated that the company was supplying customers according to their requirements.
Poland consumes approximately 20 billion cubic metres of gas each year. PGNiG has a long-term contract for 10.2 million cubic meters with Gazprom. This year’s expiration is this. Rest comes from LNG imports from EU markets, domestic production and other sources.
