WPP launches $1.1 billion buyback after ‘outstanding’ year -Breaking

LONDON (Reuters), WPP (LON) launched a $1.1 billion share purchaseback in 2022, following strong client demand that saw it surpass recent upgraded forecasts for an “outstanding year”.

According to the owner of Ogilvy, Grey, and GroupM, its primary net sales measure, like-for-like revenues less pass-through expenses, had increased by 12.1% in 2021, as opposed to an October forecast that was 11.5% to 12 percent.

The forecast for growth in 2022 is around 5%.

WPP and Omnicom Publicis are advertising holding companies. IPG, IPG, and Omnicom Publicis have led the way in a corporate recovery following the pandemic.

Other non-communication work also has helped the sector to come out of the period of stagnation predated by the pandemic. As clients use them more often to create ecommerce platforms or digitize their businesses, they have been a huge help.
