Bald eagle lays two eggs in Washington’s National Arboretum -Breaking

Two bald eagles, “Lady U.S.” or “Mr. Preside” (or Lotus and Mr. P respectively) made headlines when they laid two eggs at their nest at the National Arboretum in Washington.
This was the third time that the park had seen a baldeagle lay eggs for three years. According to Dan Rauch (a D.C. Department of Energy and Environment wildlife biologist), the eggs will hatch around March 31, Rauch said.
He said, “This nest sort of mirrors recovery of bald Eagles.” He said, “Every green light is go. This is amazing.
American’s national symbol, the Bald Eagle has been saved from extinction. It was taken off the endangered and threatened national list in 2021.
Popular eagle couple enjoys a large following. The couple’s Twitter account (NYSE:) has over 7,500 followers. They also have live American Eagle Foundation camera (NYSE:) cameras which are set up on the nest. This makes them a favorite among eagle enthusiasts on social media.
Friday’s morning was spent by the couple perched on their nest in a Tulip Poplar tree at 80 feet (24cm) high. The birds took turns sitting on eggs and then chirping at another bird that was flying above them, as video showed.
The nest is not the first occasion Mr. Trump has mated in this way. The nest was made their home in 2014 by Mr. President and “First Lady,” a male bald eagle. The American Eagle Foundation reports that this was the first time since 1947 that bald Eagles have nested at the spot.
They raised one eaglet in 2015, and then two more in 2016. The couple had two eaglets in 2018, but one was lost to West Nile virus.
The First Lady decided to leave Mr. President on Valentine’s Day 2021, after having trouble with eggs production and the visit of other eagles when she was away in warmer months. Lotus was born the day after her last departure.
Lotus is doing very well. Rauch stated that they are “good partners.” Rauch said, “They make a great match.”
