HONG KONG, (Reuters) – MSCI won’t implement any changes to Russian securities it previously announced in its February review. This was due to U.S. sanctions against Russia. The index provider issued a statement Thursday.

MSCI stated that they welcome feedback from participants in the market about the effects of U.S. sanction on investment, and whether or not additional modifications to MSCIindices are necessary or useful “to keep the investability of relevant MSCIindices”.

As part of MSCI’s periodic review process, the changes had been announced earlier in February.
