Experts Warning: Crypto Scammers Target Ukrainian Chaos- Avast warned its users that scammers posing as Ukrainians are asking for cryptocurrency donations.

Users have been warned by experts about scammers posing as embattled Ukrainians asking for cryptocurrency donations via social media.
In the midst of Ukraine’s ongoing influx of millions of cryptocurrencies into its country, Avast security specialists in Russia as well as Ukraine has been closely monitoring the various channels to identify potential threats.
When the donations started pouring in for Ukraine, Avast experts discovered “a number of scammers who are tricking people out of money by pretending they are Ukrainians in desperate need of financial help.”
In the past, they have spotted similar antics but for people “stuck while traveling or looking for love. They discovered that scammers were far more distinct than they thought.
The attackers aren’t ethical in their actions and will seize any opportunity to extract money from those who wish to aid others. What’s suspicious is the immediate mention of , as well as the usernames that consist only of letters and numbers.
Avast acknowledged that certain posts are legitimate but some requests seemed suspicious. Avast cited an example of a Russian underground forum in which the Bitcoin transaction fees were higher than requested.
Changpeng Zhao, Binance CEO, also advised users to be vigilant against these types of scams by tweeting:
You should not post a picture of you and me. They may claim to be friends or support you. They should be treated like scammers.
I am happy to take photographs with anybody at conferences or on the streets. I don’t know who is a scammer or not.

Avast security specialists advised that users be cautious about similar scams spreading via TikTok or other social media platforms.
