Developers Build Metaverse on Popular Game “Minecraft”

Minecraft, the popular sandbox videogame developed by Mojang Studios and now owned by Microsoft is becoming Web3. Developers are making changes to Minecraft in order to make it a functional metaverse.

NFT Worlds, a Minecraft-based project is one example. NFT Worlds is cryptocurrency-based and was developed on third-party Minecraft server. ArkDev (pseudonyms), and Temptranquil, the co-founders, describe NFT Worlds to be a completely decentralized, customizable, community-driven gaming platform that allows players to play for money. Because Minecraft is an open-source software, they decided to create NFT Worlds using it. It is also less rigid than Roblox, which they consider it to be.
