MOSCOW, (Reuters) – The Kremlin said Monday that talks with Ukraine would begin soon, but refused to speak about Moscow’s goal in negotiations. Two small Ukrainian cities were seized by Russian invaders in southeastern Ukraine.
Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesperson said that Russia regrets not having started talks a day sooner. Russia’s military and economic isolation in Moscow led to stiff opposition from other parts of Ukraine.
