DUBAI (Reuters – Iran’s “bitter experience” of broken promises by the United States has proven that it will seek to protect its interests through securing a nuclear deal. This was according to Nour-news, a Nour-news-affiliated website.

Ali Shamkhani said, “Bitter experiences with the U.S. breaches of promises and European lack of action have made it inexorable to meet all the requirements for an agreement that is reliable, balanced, and sustainable,” during a meeting between Iranian parliamentarians & the Supreme National Security Council.

All the parties in talks agree there have been significant progress towards the restoration of the deal to reduce Tehran’s nuclear programme in return for sanctions relief. The United States has abandoned this pact since 2018. Washington and Tehran agree that there are significant disagreements to resolve.

Reuters was told by an Iranian official that despite progress made in negotiations, Tehran still wants to end the issue of uranium traces at several sites Iran’s past but not declared.
