HOUSTON, Reuters – Marathon Petroleum Corp. (NYSE:) will reduce production at its 593,000 barrels-per-day Galveston Bay refinery in Texas City. This is to allow for repairs to ongoing residual hydrotreating units.
Since a February 4th power failure at the refinery, both 64,000- and 60,000-bpd RHU were shut down.
Sources said that all other units have been restarted at the refinery, however, with RHUs out, the refinery operates at about 80% capacity.
