Oracle suspends operations in Russia, SAP pauses sales -Breaking

(Reuters). -Biz software company Oracle Corp (NYSE:) announced Wednesday that it had suspended operations in Russia. However, rival SAP SE (DE) stated later it would suspend all sales to Russia following the invasion of Ukraine by Moscow.
Three hours later, the minister of digital transformation in Ukraine tweeted to Oracle (NYSE:) asking for help.
Oracle didn’t respond to inquiries for comment regarding its tweet that stated the company had “suspended all operations in Russia Federation”.
In a blog posting on Tuesday, SAP called sanctions economic against Russia “an important mechanism for the efforts to restore peaceful relations.”
Christian Klein, chief executive, stated that Russian sanctions have forced him to stop business and prevent any sales of SAP products or services in Russia.
He stated that, aside from the 1 million euro ($1.11million initial) humanitarian assistance to Ukraine SAP had also offered “to convert our office spaces at European locations into warehousing & accommodation for refugees.”
