Boeing to ‘strictly adhere’ to restrictions on operating in Russia -CEO -Breaking

WASHINGTON/SEATTLE, (Reuters) – Boeing (NYSE:) Co said Thursday that it will adhere strictly to Russian export restrictions and controls. This was according to Chief Executive of the American aircraft manufacturer.
Boeing of Chicago stated this week it had suspended parts, maintenance, and technical support to Russian airlines in response to sanctions that were imposed following Russia’s invasion Ukraine.
Boeing also temporarily suspended operations in Moscow, and closed its Kyiv office.
Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun said to employees, “Moving forward. Boeing will continue to follow U.S. Government and strictly adhere to export controls and restraints that have been governing work in Russia.” This memo was seen by Reuters.
Boeing said that it would provide $2 million in emergency assistance to Ukraine’s humanitarian efforts.
Boeing donates $1 million to CARE, which will help with distribution of hygiene kits and food. American Red Cross also receives $500,000 from Boeing.
