HONG KONG (Reuters). Macau casino operators will get their licenses extended for six more months. Public broadcaster TDM reported Thursday that a Macau official informed TDM. This is to allow Macau officials extra time to conduct a much-anticipated rebidding procedure in the largest casino hub in the world.

After a Legislative Assembly meeting Lei Wai Nong (Economy and Finance Secretary) stated that Macau’s licenses for casino will be renewed until Dec. 31, as they were set to expire June 26. After the meeting, Lei Wai Nong stated that authorities will begin the rebidding procedure once the revised city law has been passed.

The six Macau operators Wynn Macau (OTC)), Sands China, MGM China(OTC), SJM Holdings/OTC), Galaxy Entertainment (OTC), Melco Resorts all need to apply to continue operations in China-ruled ex-Portuguese colony.
