Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

The Sydney closing price fell by 0.57%

They were the top performers at the session Perseus Mining Ltd (ASX:), rose 3.12%, or 0.06 point to trade at 1.82 at close. Newcrest Mining Ltd. (ASX:), which gained 2.76% and 0.70 points respectively, ended at 26.02 Gold Road Resources Ltd Late trade saw the ASX rise by 2.58%, or 0.04 points, to 1.59

Polynovo Ltd. ASX: was among the worst-performing stocks of the session. It fell 8.60%, or 0.10 point to trade at 1.01 by the end. Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX.:) lost 8.28% (or 0.36 points) to close at 3.99. Zip Co Ltd was also down (ASX.:), or 0.15 points to 1.72.

By 985 to 466 and 355 respectively, falling stocks outnumbered advancing on the Sydney Stock Exchange.

Zip Co Ltd’s shares fell to 52 week lows (ASX) – losing 8.02% (0.15 to 1.72).

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was up 4.41% to 17.06.

For April delivery, Gold Futures rose 0.27% to $1941.15 per troy an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 1.65%, or 1.78, to $109.45 per barrel. The May Brent oil contract traded at $111.83 per barrel.

The AUD/USD exchange rate was stable at 0.74 and 0.73 respectively, but the AUD/JPY traded up 0.31% to 85.88.

At 98.06, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.28%.
