MOSCOW (Reuters), – Russia’s President Vladimir Putin urged Russia’s neighbors to refrain from escalating tensions. This was eight days after Moscow invaded Ukraine.

There are no negative intentions toward our neighbors. They should not escalate the situation or impose any restrictions. Putin made the televised statement that all obligations were fulfilled and they will be continued to be,” he said.

“We don’t believe there is any reason to make our relations worse. All our actions, should they occur, are always in reaction to unfriendly actions or actions against Russia Federation.

Putin took part in an online flag-raising ceremony to mark a northern Russian ferry.
