After addressing issues around proof-of work mining, the European Parliament has set a vote to approve a framework for regulating cryptocurrency.
Stefan Berger, member of the European Parliament Committee on Economics and Monetary Affairs (NYSE:), posted this in a Twitter thread on Monday. After receiving the final draft of bill, the committee will vote to approve the Markets in Crypto Assets framework, also known as MiCA. As the rapporteur — the person appointed to report on proceedings related to the bill — Berger said the legislation will no longer include text that some had interpreted as a possible ban on proof-of-work crypto mining.
