DUBLIN (Reuters – Russia suggested the creation of humanitarian corridors in order to permit civilians to evacuate five Ukrainian cities, including Kyiv, starting from 9 a.m. on Tuesday (0700 GMT), pending a Ukrainian deal.
Most of the corridors would go through Russia or Belarus. However, this is something the Ukrainian authorities reject in the past.
Interfax News Agency reported that civilians would be leaving Kyiv and Chernigov in Kharkiv for Russia via Belarus.
Volodymyr Zeleskiy, Ukrainian President, has rejected other proposals to expel Ukrainian citizens from what he described as “occupied territory” (Russia and Belarus).
Interfax stated that Sumy residents would be allowed to travel to Russia and Zaporizhia if they wanted to leave the city.
Interfax stated that Ukraine was given until 3:00 a.m. Moscow (0000 GMT), to accept the terms.
Sergiy Kyslytsya the Ukrainian ambassador to United Nations stated earlier in a U.N Security Council meeting that Russia had “undermined agreements” for humanitarian corridors. On Tuesday, he said all routes would be through Russia or Belarus.
