(Reuters). President Vladimir Putin declared Thursday that any sanctions imposed upon Russia against the West will be reversed, including through higher prices for food and energy, so Moscow would resolve its issues and become stronger.

Putin claimed that Russia had no alternatives to its military intervention in Ukraine. He also stated that Russia would not allow its sovereign sovereignty to be compromised for short-term financial gain.

Putin said that the Russian president would impose sanctions in all cases. There are still some issues, difficulties and questions. But we’ve overcome these in the past and they will be overcome now.

He said that “In the final, this all will lead to an increase our independence, self sufficiency, and our sovereignty”, he stated at a television government meeting, two weeks after Russian troops invaded Ukraine.

These comments were made to make Western sanctions seem self-defeating, and to assure Russians they can resist what Moscow calls an “economic war”, which is a direct attack on its banks, business and business oligarchs.

Putin claimed that Moscow, which supplies more than a third Europe’s energy with its gas production capacity, will continue to fulfill its obligations under contract even though the United States has placed severe sanctions on it. This includes a ban from buying oil from Russia.

“They have announced that they will stop the import of Russian oil from the American market. The prices are very high and the inflation has reached new heights. He said that they are trying to put the blame on us for their mistakes. “We are absolutely not responsible for it.”

Russian officials slammed the West and stated that they had previously banned all exports of telecom equipment, medical devices, automobiles, electric, and other tech items until 2022.

Over 200 items were added to the export suspension, which included railway cars and containers as well as turbines, other goods, and more.

“WE WILL SOLVE THESE PROBLEMS”

Putin spoke calmly and acknowledged the effects of sanctions since February 24, 2004.

He stated, “It’s clear that people demand certain goods at such times always increase. But we don’t doubt that we can solve all these issues while maintaining a calm manner.”

“Gradually, people are able to be more oriented and they’ll see that all of the events can be closed off or solved.”

Putin acknowledged that Russia is a large producer of fertilizers for agricultural purposes and stated there would be “negative consequences” on world food markets for Russia if it was made ill by the West.

At the meeting, his agriculture minister stated that food security in the country was assured.

Anton Siluanov, the Finance Minister, stated that Russia has taken steps to reduce capital outflows and the country will service its foreign debts using roubles rather than dollars.

He stated that the West has waged an economic war on Russia for two weeks.

Siluanov stated that the West has defaulted in its obligations to Russia, having frozen its foreign currency and gold reserves. He said that it was trying to stop foreign trade.

Siluanov stated that “in these circumstances the priority is to stabilize the situation within the financial system.”
