WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – The U.S. Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer pushed Thursday for swift passage of legislation that provides emergency assistance to Ukraine as well as new funding domestically. This would prevent government agencies from being shut down at the end this week.

Schumer stated in a Senate speech that “Once the bill arrives at Senate (from House of Representatives), Republicans should work with Democrats to pass the bill as soon possible, hopefully tonight.”
