USMANOV ALISHER
United States of America and European Union sanction Alisher Usmanov, the 68-year-old telecoms and metals tycoon who has an estimated $16.2 million net worth
Seized:
Italian authorities have taken possession of a villa on Sardinia’s Golfo del Pevero for approximately $19 Million.
Suspended:
Authorities say they don’t plan to ship the superyacht Dilbar worth $600 million to its owner.
Everton F.C. It suspended the $15 million deal plus naming rights with Usmanov’s holding company USM.
– Usmanov gave up his presidency of the Fédération Internationale d’Escrime, fencing’s highest body, and said he would no longer play a role in the organisation.
Bombardier (OTC-) is the Russian jet that was linked to Usmanov. It was one of many Russian planes reported to have been stranded at EuroPort in France Alsace because of Swiss airspace closures.

Radar Box data shows that an Airbus A340 Prestige plane linked to Usmanov left Munich, Germany for Tashkent (Uzbekistan) on February 28th. It has not been traced since.
Softly, softly:
While Usmanov is still in the United States, their treasury has removed Usmanov’s assets from its list, allowing companies that he controls to be exempted from sanctions. This was done so as not to increase the cost of commodities.
ROMAN ABRAMOVICH
Roman Abramovich 55, a millionaire politician, is not listed on any sanctions lists.
Available for sale:
Abramovich announces the sale of Chelsea Football Club and pledges to donate all proceeds to the victims of the Ukraine War.
British MP Chris Bryant claims that Abramovich wants to sell the Kensington Palace Gardens mansion he owns with 15 bedrooms to circumvent sanctions. In 2011, he bought the house in London, known as “Billionaire’s Row”, for 90million pounds (£119 million).
Stranded:
Abramovich aircraft is stuck at Europort Airport. This is due to Swiss airspace regulations.
Signature:
New York property records reveal that three Upper East Side properties valued at $92.3 million were owned by Dasha Zhukova. Dasha is a New York realty developer who was married to Stavros Niarchos, the shipping heir. According to her website, she is building the Ray Harlem 21-story, which will be home the National Black Theater.

OLEG DERIPASKA
Oleg Deripaska (54), an industrialist, who co-founded Rusal, the aluminium giant, was approved by the United States in 2018.
Swarmed, not seized:
FBI agents raided the historic New York Townhouse on 12 Gay Street. They also searched a Washington D.C. residence that was connected to Deripaska. On social media, the tycoon claimed that nobody lived in these properties.
“I must ask: How much Putin’s money were found in these abandoned houses yesterday?” He laughed, asking his assistant sarcastically if they had found vodka or mouldy jam in the cupboards.
Deripaska, through an LLC registered in British Virgin Islands, also has a residence on 11 E. 64th Street which he bought in 2008 for $42.5million, according to New York court documents.
These properties are not being seized by government despite the fact that he is prohibited from conducting business and owning property in America.
5 Belgrave Square is also owned by Deripaska, a British Virgin Islands holding firm. Multiple media reports state that Deripaska purchased the Belgravia estate in London in 2003 for 25million pounds ($33M).
Softened:
Rusal was removed from sanctions by the United States in 2019. In addition, En+ parent En+ saw Deripaska reduce his stakes below the majority threshold and bring them down to 44.95%. However, there are concerns that Deripaska is still pulling the strings behind his business empire.

According to MarineTraffic, Deripaska owns the $65 million yacht Clio. It is among several boats owned by billionaires and anchored in Maldives. The country does not have extradition agreements with the U.S.
VLADIMIR POTANIN
Vladimir Potanin, aged 61, is the CEO and chief executive officer of Norilsk Nickel. He has an estimated net worth $22 Billion. The EU or the USA have not sanctioned him.
Stepping down:
Potanin, a Guggenheim Museum trustee, announced that he was leaving the museum last week. Since 2002, he had been the chief benefactor of shows and sponsored them, such as the Kandinsky one currently on display in New York.

According to MarineTraffic, the billionaire’s yacht Nirvana, measuring 88 metres (290 feet), sailed to Maldives. The Maldives has no extradition treaty.
Bloomberg estimates that Potanin has lost almost a quarter his wealth due to sanctions on the ruble, and Russian economic activity.
IGOR SECHIN
The United States, EU, and Britain have sanctioned Igor Sechin (61), Rosneft CEO, who is considered one of Russia’s most powerful men.
Seized:
French customs officers took Sechin’s Amore Vero Yacht, 190ft (58m) in length. The yacht was being used to flee from French Riviera ports.
ALEXEY MORDASHOV
Alexey Mordashov is 56 years old. A son of a former mill worker, Mordashov became a billionaire steel magnate. The EU has placed him on a sanctions list
Shifted:
Bloomberg reported that Mordashov transferred his travel and tourism holdings to TUI, following the imposition of sanctions.
According to Bloomberg, a UK filing revealed that the steel magnate had transferred a stake of $1.1 billion in Nordgold mining company to Marina.
Seized:
Italian authorities confiscated the Lady M yacht of Mordashov, valued at 65million euros ($72 million) and moored in Imperia.
EUGENE SHVIDLER
Eugene Shvidler (57), Roman Abramovich business associate with an estimated net worth $1.7 billion
Seized:
Britain has taken possession of a private aircraft it claimed was connected to Shvidler at Farnborough Airport under the new aviation sanctions, which give it the authority to take any Russian aircraft into custody. [L2N2VC0DV]

Vladimir Soloviev (58), a pro-Putin Russian television host, who is on EU sanctions list
Seized:
Italian authorities seized two properties worth 8 millions euros in Lake Como belonging to Soloviev.
GENNADY TIMCHENKO
The US and EU sanction Gennady Timothychenko (69), chairman of Russia’s national hockey league. He has stakes in several oil and gas companies.
Seized:
Italy seizes Timchenko’s yacht Lena, worth 50 million euros ($55 million), as it is moored at San Remo
OLEG SAVCHENKO
Oleg Savchenko (a member of Russia’s parliament)
Seized:
Italian authorities have taken Savchenko’s Tuscan Villa Lazzareschi (17th Century) worth 3,000,000 Euros.
PETR AVEN
Petr Aven is an oil investor and has built an empire in Europe with an estimated net worth $4.7 billion. He’s currently on the EU sanctions list
Suspended
Following the EU sanctions, Aven lost his stake in LetterOne Investment, which held shares in Spain’s Dia supermaket and in a German energy company. [L5N2VA4XA]
The FT reports that the Latvian government wants to revoke the citizenship of the man despite him having planned to open a museum in the country a week prior to the outbreak of war in Ukraine.
Stepped down
– Resigned from the Royal Academy of the Arts London as trustee. His donation was refunded to its Fancis Bacon current exhibition by the arts organization.
MIKHAIL FRIIDMAN
Mikhail Fridman is Aven’s partner in LetterOne. His net worth is $12.3 billion. He is on the EU sanctions list
Reduced:
He resigned from LetterOne Investment firm, which he had confounded [L5N2VA4XA]
Suspended:
Pamplona Capital Management stated that it has begun disseminating itself from LetterOne. The FT was also informed by other banks that they were reviewing their lending relationships.
According to media reports, Fridman did not freeze his home in north London, which was purchased at 65 million pounds ($86million) in 2016.
ALEXANDER ABRAMOV
Alexander Abramov (cofounder, chairman, and CEO of Russian steel producer Evraz), with an estimated net worth $5.9billion, isn’t sanctioned
