Obama tweeted, “I have a scratchy throat that has been bothering me for the past couple of days but I feel fine.” Michelle and myself are thankful to have been vaccinated.
Obama encouraged Americans to be vaccinated against coronavirus despite the decreasing infection rate in the U.S. The average number of infections in the last week was 35,000, a sharp drop from mid-January’s average of 800,000.
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that 72% of U.S. adults have been fully vaccinated and that 47.7% had received booster shots. In late February, the CDC changed its indoor masking guidelines to be more inclusive. The vast majority of Americans still live in areas that do not require indoor masking.
