(Reuters) – Bentley, a luxury car manufacturer, announced plans Tuesday to produce a new model of its electric vehicle every five years starting in 2025. This is as he builds upon the parent Volkswagen’s (DE:), push to expand electric options.

Crewe, England-based Bentley reported a profit in 2021 of 389 millions euros ($427.1million). This compares with 20 million euros the year before. Deliveries jumped 31%, to 14,659 vehicles, due to strong demand for hybrid cars.

As the demand for eco-friendly vehicles grows, carmakers around the world are increasing their efforts to switch to electric cars. Volkswagen, the parent of Bentley and Europe’s most important carmaker, is investing more in power infrastructure as it tries to catch up with Tesla (NASDAQ).

Bentley has invested over 10 years 3 billion euros in its Crewe plant to help this transition.

Jan-Henrik Lafrentz (member of the Board for Finance and IT, Bentley) stated, “Increasing demand in hybridized models supported by (3 million euros of sustainable investment at our Crewe factory will ensure that we remain the benchmark manufacturer for sustainable luxury mobility.”
