Economic impact of China’s COVID resurgence must be watched

BEIJING (Reuters – China has been experiencing positive improvements in its economic performance, backed by surprisingly high economic data. But, it is important to monitor the effects of COVID-19’s resurgence, a spokesperson from China’s Statistics Bureau said Tuesday.

Despite the ongoing nationwide virus outbreaks, Fu Linghui, spokesman of China’s National Bureau of Statistics, told a press conference that he expected China’s economy to maintain relatively good performance in the first quarter.
