The index fell by 1.23% at the NSE close, and the Dow dropped by 1.26%.
Tata Consumer Products Ltd. (NS:) was the best performer of the session, rising 3.69% or 26.65 point to close at 748.90. Meanwhile, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Cipla In late trade, Ltd. (NS 🙂 was up 2.04% which is 21.35 points at 1,070.00
These were the worst performers of the session. Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS) fell 5.26%, or 31.05 point to close at 559.75 Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (NS) fell by 4.89% to 163.40 at the close. Tata Steel Ltd (NS.:) dropped 4.88% to 1,233.75.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which rose 2.31% to 760.85, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (BO:) which was up 1.40% to settle at 7,417.25 and Nestle India Ltd (BO:) which gained 0.82% to close at 17,519.60.
Tata Steel Ltd.(BO:), which fell 4.89% to 1,233.65 late trade, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.. (BO 🙂 lost 3.11% and settled at 1,733.40. Tech Mahindra Ltd. (BO 🙂 dropped 2.92% to 1,459.05 close.
On the India National Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those that advanced by 1292, 523, and 22 respectively. The Bombay Stock Exchange was unchanged with 1956 being the lowest and 1325 the highest. 98, however, ended unchanged.
